This course is aimed at people who wish to teach the RYA Shorebased curriculum. On registering for the course you will receive a Shorebased workbook and course notes, we strongly recommend that you work through them and prepare prior to the course.
Course Type: Theory and Practical
Required Experience:All Candidates should be active small craft users.To teach Essential Navigation and Seamanship you will need an RYA water based Instructor qualification. Sailing, Windsurfing or powerboating. Navigation to Day Skipper at least. To teach Day Skipper Navigation you will need Yachtmaster Shorebased completed within 5 yearsAdvanced Powerboat Instructorship. To Teach Coastal Skipper /Yachtmaster Offshore Navigation you will need Shorebased yachtmaster offshore completed with in the last five years and a Yachtmaster Certificate of competence.
Assumed Knowledge: Complete understanding of navigation.
Course Content: Instruction of Essential Navigation and Seamanship, Day Skipper, Coastal Skipper and Yachtmaster Offshore.
Ability After Course: Be able to deliver RYA Navigation courses.
